NC Workshops

Any activities can be combined with others to tailor more specifically to your unique requirements. The options below are to offer you an idea of the range of NC activities, but there is always room for some improvisation!

                               Age Ranges: 0-1 years / 1-2 years / 2-3 years / 3-4 years / 4-5 years

(based on the activity, we can combine 2 consecutive years. For example: 2-4 years.)

Standalone EY Creative soundscape workshop

Using found sounds, soundscapes + everyday objects from the natural environment, this workshop encourages children's natural openness and curiosity through a series of composing, improvising, listening and play activities, creating their very first composition. 45min duration.

Progressive EY workshops delivered weekly over a designated period.

Using found sounds, soundscapes + everyday objects from the natural environment, these porgressive workshops gradually build and integrate skills while aiming towards a creative end where the children co-create a series of soundscape compositions.  Each workshop encourages children's natural openness and curiosity through a series of composing, improvising, listening and play activities, which are led at each childs own pace.

Co-Creative Projects

The scale of this is open and based on the posisbilities of each setting or group. A couple of examples: Co-Create a multisensory book, which is based on the children's activities and observations of a forest or any naturally formed ecosystem. Co-create a new soundscape based on collective field recordings during a series of sound walks.

Guided Sound Walks

Creative workshop outside where we listen and explore the sounds around us. We slowly walk to a specific point and then create sounds using only the materials around us. This workshop can be linked with any of the others.

Research based activities

NC has a strong research basis and continues to push and question our approaches to creative practices within early years. Making work for and with children is a living process that must change and evolve as do the needs of our youngest explorers. We are happy to contribute or lead any related practice-led research.

NC and children living with dissabilities

NC aesthetic is deliberately open to faciliate a wide range of additional needs and all activities are achieveable in collaboration with a setting/organisation/group. NC values the abilities of every child and will ensure that necessary time and space is provided for every voice to be heard equally.
